        ST EDWARDS WINS AGAIN !!

In the annual South East area inter-club match held on January 31st at Ditton, St Edwards won in a dead heat with Thurrock after a closely contested 7-way match involving clubs from the Kent, Essex, and Surrey areas. See the photos here.

Our brilliant team were:

  • Pre-Beginners Kate Huggins and Meg (Akita)
  • Beginners Andy Thompson and Max (Border Collie)
  • Novice Linda Button and Binkie (Min. Poodle)
  • A Maureen Kimber and Keeley (B/C)
  • B Jenny Harknett and Chance (W/Sheepdog)
  • C Fran Godfrey and Inca (W/Sheepdog)

The places gained were :

  • 4th in PreBeginner,
  • 2nd in Beginner,
  • 4th in Novice,
  • 4th in A,
  • 1st (playing the Joker for double points) in B, and
  • 3rd in C.

Congratulations to our brilliant team, and thanks to our Team Manager, Elsie Deacon, who kept us all in order. St.Edwards last won the match in 2001, and were second last year. We will be hosting the match next year which will take place during the first weekend of February (hopefully, date to be confirmed) and will be held again at Ditton.

 

Albert Walker

It  is with great sadness that St Edwards have to announce the death of one of its instructors, Albert Walker. Albert had put up a long and brave fight against cancer. Our thoughts go to all  his relatives. He will be missed by all.

Fran Godfrey and Inca won the 'A' class for the Southern Team in the regional event at Crufts 2003! Well done Fran and Inca, the whole club are very proud of you both!
